About Gizmos and Gadgets
We explain consumer technology in the terms that decide whether a purchase was a good one: specifications, support windows, and what a thing actually costs to own.
Who we write for
Our readers are ordinary buyers, not enthusiasts. They are replacing a router that finally died, choosing a first robot vacuum, deciding whether a heater is worth what it adds to the electricity bill, or trying to work out whether a sale price is real. They do not want a leaderboard of benchmark scores. They want to know which number on the box matters and which one is decoration.
What we do
We publish buying guides and explainers on consumer electronics, home technology, and the pricing practices that surround both. Every article aims to be useful without a purchase: the battery math works whether or not you buy the power bank we mention, and the checklist for reading a marketplace listing applies at any retailer.
We also send a free email guide and occasional updates to readers who ask for them. Signing up is optional, the consent choices are separate and unchecked by default, and you can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP to a text or using the unsubscribe link in any email.
How we make money
Gizmos and Gadgets is supported by advertising and by affiliate and referral relationships with retailers and service providers. When we link to a product or connect you with a partner, we may be paid. That relationship never buys a recommendation, and we do not accept payment to describe a specification as better than it is. Where a partner relationship affects what you see on a page, we say so on that page.
We are a publisher, not a retailer, a manufacturer, or a warranty provider. We do not sell hardware, we do not repair it, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the brands we write about.
Editorial approach
Three rules govern what we publish. First, a claim about performance has to be traceable to a specification, a standard, or a test, and we name it. Second, prices and support commitments carry the date we checked them, because both change. Third, when something is genuinely uncertain, we say that rather than picking a side for the sake of a cleaner conclusion.
When we get something wrong, we correct the article and note the correction. Reader reports of errors are the fastest way we find them, and the contact address below reaches an actual person.
